Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by powerboat drivers operating by day or night in known or unfamiliar waters, the skipper’s role and boat handling in more demanding conditions.

Theory and background
• Can carry out pilotage plans and pilotage for entry into or departure from harbour.
• Can use leading and clearing lines, transits, back bearings and soundings as aids to pilotage.
• Can use GPS and understand its limitations in pilotage
• Navigate using soundings
• Can apply the International regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.
This course is very advanced.
