• Advanced Navigation:
  • Chart plotting and fixing positions accurately
  • Advanced tidal stream and tidal height calculations
  • Use of electronic navigation aids (e.g., GPS, AIS, radar)
• Passage Planning:
  • Crafting comprehensive passage plans for coastal and offshore routes
  • Identifying hazards and planning safe routes
  • Incorporating pilotage into complex passages
• Meteorology:
  • Understanding weather systems and global meteorological patterns
  • Analyzing and interpreting forecasts and weather data
  • Using synoptic charts for decision-making
• Collision Regulations (IRPCS):
  • In-depth understanding of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea
